Downloading and installation instructions for the new databases:

Windows users:

Download the appropriate file:

Full database for Windows 95 and NT ** See caution note below!

Run the installer and install it into the directory that contains your B2 Spice 2 database (which should be named Parts.mdb).

**Caution: Installing the new database will overwrite your old one so if there are any parts that you have added or parts that you have altered and wish to keep, do not install the new database.

Macintosh Users:

Download the appropriate file:

New Full Database for Macintosh (doesn't include TI and National Semi parts)

National Semiconductor parts *(see note below)

Texas Instruments parts*(see note below)

If your browser or FTP program doesn't automatically decode the .hqx file for you, do so using BinHex or StuffIt. Either way, the file should no longer have .hqx as part of the name.

Please note that the full database will take up approximately 11% of your hard drive. That means that on a 1 Gig Hard drive, the database will take up about 115 MB.

If you are just installing the full database, then double click on the installer application to run it. The installer will ask you where to install the database. Select the folder that contains your B2 Spice 2 applications and click "Install."

CAUTION! The installer will overwrite your old database. If there are parts that you've added to your database or changes that you've made and you don't want to lose them, do not install the new database.

Also note that the install process will take some time as there are about 6900 files to install.

* The National Semiconductor and Texas Instruments parts come in a patch file. To put the parts into your database, run the Device Editor and select "Restore from Database Patch" from the Special Menu. The file that you should open is the file that you just downloaded and should be named xxxx.pat, with xxxx being either TI or National.
